At the city council's annual meeting on Tuesday, the Labour Party held on to power after another Green Party abstention. The Liberal Democrat group voted against Labour; however, the Greens, the second largest party, abstained from the vote meaning Labour secured enough votes to continue in power.

The Liberal Democrat Councillors on Norwich City Council are calling for a tenants 'hotline' to be set up to allow tenants to give their housing concerns directly to the Board who will oversee improvements to the Housing Services, currently rated at 'zero' by the Audit Commission.

Last year, the Liberal Democrats on Norwich City Council gained all-party agreement to a move designed to give people more of a say on what they want happening in their communities. Now, several months on, they are asking the City Council Executive for details on how work on the scheme has progressed.
